Thanksgiving is one week away and we are busy writing our list of grocery essentials for this big day. I love Thanksgiving and look forward to it every year because I love the time of reflection, the Black Friday ads and the food.

Let’s give thanks for all the food we are about to dig into in just a week’s time. My favorite Thanksgiving staples are my homemade stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole, and buttered herb turkey.

Oh, and you cannot forget the sweet rolls, pickles, and olives. I think my kids spend more time indulging in these holiday sides more so than the actual turkey.

These days, we typically enjoy our Thanksgiving lunch by 11:30 am–YES, that is right–we wake up early to cook the bird and eat just before noon. It is just Jared, and I plus the kiddos. We do not have family over for lunch because everyone loves their own leftovers.

Speaking of leftovers, I usually have a ton! In the past, I have made Thanksgiving Casserole, Thanksgiving Leftovers Bombs, and these Turkey Sliders. But, since I love quiche so much–hello, , I wanted to make a Thanksgiving Leftovers Quiche.

When I was younger, my dad was the King of throwing leftovers in a skillet with some sauteed onion. He could make anything taste delicious and would make us the best omelets. That is where I got his inspiration from–my dad, my hero.

Ingredients for a Thanksgiving Leftovers Quiche

The beauty of quiche is that you can literally add almost any precooked turkey dinner leftovers to one. But, today it is all about the turkey and dressings. I included the following in mine, but you could even chop up extra veggies.

  • Leftover Turkey
  • Onion
  • Stuffing
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Cheese
  • Sweet Potato Casserole
  • Cranberry Sauce

If you prefer a purely savory quiche swap the sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce for a chopped veggie or regular potato side.

  • Limit fillings to 3 cups max so everything fits right.
  • You can use cheddar or mozzarella shredded cheese.
  • Bake on a baking sheet to any spills are easily cleaned up.

Storing & Reheating Quiche

Short-term storage (up to 4 days):

  1. Cool completely:Let your quiche cool to room temperature before storing. This prevents trapped steam from making the crust soggy.
  2. Wrap it tight:Use plastic wrap or aluminum foil to seal the quiche completely.Plastic wrap is better for preventing moisture loss, while aluminum foil protects against freezer burn if you decide to freeze it later.
  3. Refrigerate:Place the wrapped quiche in the refrigerator. It will stay safe and delicious for up to 4 days.

Long-term storage (up to 3 months):

  1. Freeze solid:Quiche freezes exceptionally well!Once it’s completely cool, wrap individual slices or the whole quiche tightly in plastic wrap, then aluminum foil.Place it in a freezer-safe container or bag for extra protection against freezer burn.
  2. Label and freeze:Label the container with the date and contents before freezing.Frozen quiche will stay good for up to 3 months.

Thawing and reheating:

  • Thaw in the fridge:For the best results, thaw frozen quiche overnight in the refrigerator. This allows it to thaw gently and prevents the crust from getting soggy.
  • Reheat: quiche in the oven, toaster oven,or microwave.Preheat your chosen appliance to 350°F (175°C) and reheat the quiche until warmed through, about 15-20 minutes for individual slices and 25-30 minutes for the whole quiche. You can also cover the quiche with foil while reheating to prevent the crust from drying out.
