This is basically the Walt Disney Cartoon in book format. It's a great story. My nephew just got Disney plus a few months ago and he loves to watch a few of these short cartoons before bed. He loves the silly symphonies. So, before that, these little short cartoons were really available to watch when you wanted. It was that if you wanted to experience the story, you read these golden books and Walt Disney put out a ton of these. It reminded you of the cartoon story you love. I think these things are great. It's a good story and it was wonderful people had access to it. It's also from 1988, the copyright on this edition, I know the cartoon is decades older and I need books from those 80's years right now. The good thing is our library is now open for curb side pick-up again, so I will have some different types of books again. I'm excited.

Fun retelling of the original story. Because it is Disney, children get to read about some familiar characters in a classic story.

Pretty standard. I don't know if I watched the cartoon as a child. I feel like I did, but it's not super strong in my memory. I don't really understand the Golden Harp thing, or why the giants whole house shakes when he walks through it -- humans don't shake human-sized houses, why should he shake his own? Is that how things work?

My favorite telling of the beanstalk and the giant so far. Mickey Donald Duck and Goofy live together on farm. Mickey ends up selling their cow bestie after the golden harp is stolen from Happy Valley. The beans grow over night into a beanstalk which they climb finding food and the golden harp which they rescue and the giant falls to the center of the earth with everything being restored

Disney did a very cute job at retelling "Jack and the magic beanstalk" using Mickey, Donald and Goofy as the main characters. A story that little boys or girls would enjoy having read to them or reading themselves.

I like this version of Jack and the Beanstalk. This version has the Magic Harp, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, and Goofy. It's not too scary for the little readers.

Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy are farmers in this retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk. A cute story for young children.

It's okay if the reader never knows about the original, non-Disney version.

This is a sweet fairytale spinoff of the original story Jack and the Beanstalk, and it is a Disney movie that has Disney characters. This would be a fun story to do a mini-lesson on, where we could have the class compare the original story to this Disney version of the story.

Easy, fun book for kids. Especially now when mickey is such a common character that children love watching on tv, so turning it into a book is a great way for them to learn to enjoy reading, learn to read in general

This book is a retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk. Dina Anastasio replaces Jack with Mickey Mouse instead. This may children more interested in the book because it has a familiar character.

Fun story I remember from my childhood but not really one to teach young kiddos IMO

The problem that led to the beanstalk adventure was that they had no food. At they end everyone is happy but still has no food. Either I’m missing something or the narrative structure is a bit too loose.

This is a really fun book for children. It takes the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and replaces Jack with Mickey making the story more Disney-esk.
